GSL Senior Product Manager

Job Description

The Senior Product Manager (SPM) will manage all existing products and developers, as well as help create and integrate new products for GSL.

In this role, the SPM will conduct margin analysis, industry and market research, and performance measurement to determine product demand, positioning, viability, and usability.

The SPM will create business cases, product descriptions and work as a facilitator between the various internal departments at GSL to ensure product policy and processes are negotiated, documented, and executed accurately.

The SPM will lead regularly scheduled meetings centered on system and operational requirements for product changes and new product development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Identify and present innovative and creative product solutions.
Project management of all product integration, launches, and changes throughout implementation.
Identify the operational requirements based upon the business requirements and objectives of each product.
Display a high level of critical thinking in cross-functional process analysis and problem resolution for new and existing products.
Lead the development, approval, training, and communication of new product changes and their associated customer, operational, system, and process impacts to the various internal departments.
Develop and conduct training on new products launched.
Monitor internal processes for efficiency and validity for pre- and post- product launch/changes.
Provide support for other departmental projects as needed.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and or ability required.

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

Bachelors degree in business, marketing, engineering, computer science;
Two to five years marketing/product development experience preferred;
Two to five years computer experience (internet, application programming, database, etc.); and
Experience in product development, strategic planning, and implementation preferred.

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written);
Ability to write and deliver training courses and materials;
Ability to exercise good interpersonal skills;

"UXO Safety" Teaches Children About the Dangers of Unexploded Ordnance

GSL, in conjunction with USA Environmental, Inc. and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers South Atlantic District, published an interactive storybook for mobile devices. "UXO Safety" follows the adventures of Roxie, Sgt. Woof, and their friends as they explore Camp Two Feathers and learn about the dangers of unexploded ordnance, or UXO.

"UXO Safety" is now available for free at the Apple Store for iPad and at Google Play for Android devices.

UXO Safety Video Debut

A new safety video that warns against the dangers of unexploded ordnance (UXO) was unveiled Thursday, December 13, 2012. This video production is unique because it was created through a union of a local school, small businesses, and the U.S. government.

GSL Solutions (GSL), in conjunction with USA Environmental, Inc. (USA), were tasked by the United States Army Corps of Engineers to enhance their UXO youth safety and awareness program. Under the project management of USA, GSL developed the concept for the new safety video and realized the need to communicate effectively to the targeted audience. It was for this reason that GSL decided to include students to not only act but produce the video itself.

Through the eduction division of GSL, The Digital Bell, GSL Chairman Sam Lee contacted the School District of Manatee County to determine their interest level in the project. It was determined that Southeast High School in Bradenton was the best fit for this project.

"From the beginning, this project has been mutually beneficial for everyone involved. By bringing together the two primary strengths of GSL, government and education, the Army Corps of Engineers now has a great new tool for UXO safety awareness that was produced for students, by students." said Mr. Lee.

The video officially premiered at 2:30pm in the Production Studios of Southeast High School in Bradenton, FL. The video was produced for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers through a joint project with Southeast High, USA Environmental, Inc., and GSL Solutions.
